Travel Tips
It is always better to be prepared for your trip. Some travelling tips to ensure a smooth trip:
Do you have all the Travel Document?
- Do ensure your bring along your passport and check your passport expiry date. Some countries require that a traveller's passport be valid for at least six months beyond the dates of the trip
- For some countries, you may be required to apply for the Foreign Visa before you can travel there. Check this out: http://www.mfa.gov.sg/content/mfa/overseasmission/london/visa_information/visa_requirements.html
- Make two photocopies of all your travel documents in case of emergency or if your documents are lost or stolen. Leave one copy with a friend or relative at home. It is always a great idea to let at least one person know exactly where you will be staying and how to contact you in an emergency. Carry the other copy with you stored separately from the originals. Documents to make copies of include:
- Passport ID page
- Foreign visa (if applicable)
- Itinerary
- Hotel confirmation, if you have already done the booking
- Airline ticket
- Driver's license (if you intend to drive oversea)
- Credit cards brought on the trip. Do make sure you have activated it for overseas usage before you go on the trip
Pack According to the Weather
- For seasonal countries, you may want to check out the weather, season and temperature so you will know the types of clothes to bring along. Don't over-pack or under-pack your luggage.
- Travel light if you can, so you can move around quickly and if you need
Travel Insurance
- Do check out the various types of travel insurances that is suitable for you and your family. It might be more economical to get a family insurance instead individual if you are traveling together
Do you need any Vaccinations?
- You may need to get some vaccinations before going to some countries
- Do check out with your doctor if you are unsure whether you need it or not. They will be able to advise you where possible
